Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is more than a hot pack and massage. Physical therapists are movement experts that are trained to evaluate strength deficits, movement restrictions, and soft tissue limitations that may be causing pain and injury. Physical Therapy addresses the whole person to allow for maximum pain free mobility to allow for unrestricted participation in sports, hobbies, and activities of daily life.

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy includes several treatments , such as deep tissue massage, soft tissue massage, trigger point release, myofascial release, IASTM,  cupping, joint mobilization, and recovery stretching. Manual Therapy can be a useful tool to help decrease pain to allow for improved mobility and return to exercise.   This is especially useful during a recent onset of pain, such as waking up with a stiff neck or straining your back doing yardwork. Call sooner than later to reduce your pain before it becomes chronic and debilitating.

Wellness and Fitness Programming

Wellness is often a continuation of care after you have addressed your goals for physical therapy. The Wellness Program allows for you to continue working on endurance, strength, mobility, and overall well-being with guidance and instruction in safe exercise progressions. This focuses on prevention and injury avoidance to allow you to continue living an active and healthy lifestyle.

Frequently asked questions

What is concierge physical therapy?

Concierge physical therapy is an exclusive service that is only offered to a limited number of individuals at a time; this allows me to completely individualize treatment and care with each person and provide an overall better experience than at a traditional physical therapy clinic.

What are benefits of concierge physical therapy?

  • Convenience
    • Allows the luxury of treatment being provided in your own home
    • Easy scheduling
    • Eliminates the need to commute to a traditional clinic
    • Allows for scheduling during more convenient times during the day
    • Eliminates the need to find childcare so that you can attend an appointment

  • No high co-pays/Insurance Restrictions
    • Many insurance plans have high deductibles or high copays, resulting in an expensive overall treatment throughout your plan of care. Concierge physical therapy is often less expensive due to less overall number of visits because of the ability to provide a higher level of quality care during each visit.
    • Insurance companies often limit how many body parts can be treated at a time or how many visits you are allowed per year. These limitations are eliminated with concierge style physical therapy.

  • Personalized Care
    • Completely one-on-one care
    • Longer treatment sessions to see results quickly
    • You will never be working with a PT tech or aide. The entire treatment is provided by me.
    • You will reach your goals faster
    • The ability to easily reach your provider with questions

What measures are you taking regarding Covid exposure?

Treatment in your home will keep you from having to go into a busy clinic with many people working in close quarters. This alone will reduce your risk for Covid exposure.

The treatment table and all equipment will be sanitized between each patient. I will be wearing a mask and ask that you do as well. I will also have gloves and hand sanitizer with me at each visit.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not to participate with insurance companies in order to keep the treatment completely unaffected by insurance limitations. Insurance often dictates how many visits or body parts can be treated at a time, often resulting in unmet patient goals. By staying out of network, we can continue to progress and modify treatment as necessary until you have met all of your goals. I can accept your HSA (health savings account) and FSA (flexible savings account) as payment.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No you do not. South Carolina allows direct access to treatment with a physical therapist for 30 days before needing a referral from your doctor. Just give me a call and we can get you set up for an evaluation.
